EVERY SATURDAY: paddle from Genesee back to Devon.

Chose from these three great routes:

  • Paddle from Devon to Edmonton - shuttles depart from Emily Murphy Park in Edmonton (south shore of the river) at 9am.
    Drive into the park and turn left at the T-intersection. We meet in the parking lot next to the Groat Road Bridge. From there you and your gear will be transported by van to Devon. We anticipate arrival at Devon at approximately 10 am. Here your 2-person canoe is waiting and you begin your journey down river at your leisure.
Cost: $30.00/pers. plus $30.00 for a 2-person canoe or kayak.

A third canoe-seat can be supplied.

  • Paddle from Genesee to Devon - shuttles depart from the Devon Bridge at 10am. We meet in the small park with the boat launch on the south shore of the river, below the highway 60 bridge. The shuttle to the Genesee bridge, your starting point, takes about 45 minutes. Bring your fishing gear and expect to see wildlife.
Cost: $30.00/pers. plus $30.00 for a 2-person canoe.

  • Paddle from Genesee to Edmonton - make it a weekend trip and we include a tent with ground sheet, two mattresses, two drybags for your personal equipment and one night camping by the river's edge at the Lions Campground in Devon. Meet us on Saturday at 9am at Emily Murphy Park in Edmonton and plan to be back here on Sunday late afternoon.
Cost: $140.00 for 2 persons in one canoe.

Travel time: It is difficult to calculate the exact amount of time it will take for you to travel down the river Edmonton. The river tends to run at different speeds depending on the flow of water at different times of year.

The following times are approximations:

Terwilleger Park to Whitemud Park 30 min. 45 min. 1 hour
Whitemud Park to Emily Murphy Park 30 min. 45 min. 1 hour

The trip from the Genesee bridge to Edmonton is a wonderful weekend outing for the whole family. Check above for prices or give us a call for more details.

Equipment
In order to prepare the equipment arrangements must be made at least 1 working day prior to departure.

The following items are all included in the rental package:

  • 1 canoe, 2 paddles
  • 1 personal flotation device with whistle per person
  • 1 throw bag
  • A rental agreement must be signed upon receipt of equipment
  • You must inform us of your approximate finish time.
  • You will be responsible to lock up all rental gear upon arrival at the end of your journey.
  • Your driver will supply you with the appropriate lock-up details.
  • All rental gear and boats must be returned to the starting point. Personal equipment and other gear you feel is necessary will be your responsibility, ie. water, food, rain gear, sun screen, etc.

A Visa or MasterCard imprint is required.

If you are planning to stop at Big Island, there is no shelter, no water and no fire wood.

Other Information: This shuttle runs in inclement weather, however should you need to contact anyone prior to the program regarding cancellation or inclement weather, call us at 470-5352.
